The Chanderi dupatta, known for its ethereal lightness and natural sheen, is a luxurious piece woven from fine silk threads in the town of Chanderi, Madhya Pradesh. Its delicate texture drapes gracefully, making it ideal for both festive occasions and everyday elegance. What sets this dupatta apart is the intricate Bandhani work, carefully hand-tied and dyed by skilled artisans. Neelgar embraces these delicate Chanderi fabrics, supporting traditional craftsmanship and ensuring that each piece is a harmonious blend of color and texture.
This Neelgar Bandhani Japanese Wave dupatta is inspired by the famous painting "The Great Wave off Kanagawa." Designed by Kamaldeep Kaur, it brings together Japanese art and our traditional Bandhani tie-dye. The design blends wave patterns and small dots, showing a beautiful connection between two cultures. Japan is one of the only countries known for fine tie-dye work like Bandhani — they call it Shibori.
